TITLE: DEVELOPMENT OF GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY FOR THE QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF METHYLAMINE AND THIONYL CHLORIDE IN 4-CHLORO-N-METHYL-2-PYRIDINECARBOXAMIDE
ABSTRACT:
Gas chromatography method with direct injection will be developed for the quantitative determination of the concentration (in ppm) of Methylamine and Thionyl Cl, respectively. Gas chromatography can be used for the direct separation and analysis of gaseous samples, liquid solutions, and volatile compounds. Gas chromatography is found to be the most suitable method of analysis due Methylamine and Thionyl Cl being volatile compounds. The analytical method (GC) will then be validated according ICH guidelines Q2[1]. Specificity and limits of detection and quantitation will be determined.
